Lazy Summer Days
As I sit in my studio working, creating, I can look out onto a world separate yet still part of mine.
Deers in winter eating on cedar branches, rabbits frolicking amidst the lilies. House wrens busy building nests, raising young. Squirrels working day long storing nuts, pine cones and maple keys for when winter storms blow strong.
Then there’s this little guy. Maybe his stores are full, the young gone, making their way on their own. For on some hot, lazy summer days, he comes. Just to have a little time all to himself, or maybe to recharge? I’ll never know for sure.
But that’s when I too, take a deep breath and know life is not all about rushing, accomplishing so much but enjoying all the moments that fill a life up.
