I Listened To You Speak

I listened to you speak
Saw what you want
And seek.

A sadness overwhelmed
The likes of me
Realizing neither I
Or anyone on earth
Could satisfy such a hunger
Such a thirst.

I came away feeling
Worthless in this sadness
that makes me cry
For nothing, nothing
I could say or speak
Would give you
What you want and seek.
